EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000). It’s a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For other urgent medical issues, go to an Emergency Department.

Our Emergency Departments are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week:

The Tweed Hospital runs an extensive Rehabilitation Outpatient Service for a range of health issues including fracture clinic, gynaecological needs, paediatric services, and pre-surgery.

Click on the individual services for more information on our clinics and programs.

Antenatal Clinic

Our maternity service has a number of pregnancy care options and specialised care clinics for women who are planning to birth at The Tweed Hospital. Care models include:

  • Midwifery Group Practice (MGP)
  • Obstetric complex care clinics
  • General Practitioner share care
  • Next Birth after Caesarean
  • Maternal Foetal Medicine outreach clinic
  • Outreach Antenatal Clinic at the Murwillumbah Hospital (see below)

Your first pregnancy appointment will be with a midwife. At this first appointment we discuss your personal and family medical history, as well as your general well-being and what is important to you. This helps identify ways in which we can provide you with appropriate care and support throughout your pregnancy, and ensure your needs are met.

You can expect this first appointment to take about one and a half hours and we ask, where possible, for you to attend this appointment on your own.

Please contact the Antenatal Clinic, ideally around week 12 of your pregnancy, to arrange your first comprehensive care visit.
