Riverlands Inpatient Withdrawal Unit is a specialised unit located next to Lismore Base Hospital that provides a supervised medicated withdrawal service for individuals over the age of 18 who are substance dependant.

The Buttery

The Buttery is a not-for-profit, charitable, community based organisation located at Binna Burra near Bangalow. The Buttery specialises in the treatment of alcohol and other drug misuse, and associated mental health issues, as well as problem gambling.

The Buttery has two residential addiction rehabilitation programs and a separate wellbeing program. It also operates community outreach programs in the Northern Rivers region.

Namatjira Haven Drug and Alcohol Healing Centre

This is a non-Government 14-bed residential drug and alcohol service for Aboriginal men located in Alstonville that provides a structured program to help men make positive health and lifestyle choices.

Namatjira Haven runs the ‘Gulgihwen Change Program’, which aims to provide education and support towards addressing the issues of substance misuse and improve health and well-being.

Clients can ring the Centre and check their eligibility as there are a number of health, well-being and legal situations which the service cannot cater for. For information phone the Intake Officer on (02) 6628 1098 or visit the website.
