EMERGENCY

In an emergency, always call triple zero (000) for an ambulance. Ambulances are the safest way to be assessed, treated and transported to the right hospital for the care you need.

Triple zero (000) is a free call from any phone, mobile or phone box.

For less severe but still urgent situations, go to an Emergency Department.

There are 12 public hospital Emergency Departments in Northern NSW Local Health District and they are all available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Emergency departments are located at:

We often think of the farm equipment, technology or advice we might need to invest in to make our farms and businesses more profitable.

However, Rural Adversity Mental Health Program (RAMHP) coordinators are suggesting that after all the adversity our communities have faced recently, now is a good time to remember the importance of investing in looking after yourself, as your most important asset on farm.

This year RAMHP will be partnering with Local Lands Services and attending Primex, held in Casino 16-18 May.

RAMHP Coordinator, Stephen Carrigg said there is no doubt about it, rural communities are doing it tough.

“We’ve experienced years of drought, bushfires, a global pandemic and catastrophic flooding. These events have really taken a toll on many people, financially, physically and mentally,” Mr Carrigg said.

“These stressful events can cause feelings of worry and unease, especially when there are high levels of uncertainty involved. Primex is a great opportunity to take a break, connect and better understand the range of services and help that is available.”

RAMHP Coordinators, Steve, Orry and Samantha, will be on site at Primex across the three days, and are looking forward to catching up and having a chat with the community.

Maybe you’d like to drop in to talk about how you are doing. You may be seeking mental health advice for yourself or someone else you know. Talking to your local coordinator about the range of free mental health and wellbeing sessions and events they can provide for your community or organisation is a great start.

RAMHP encourages anyone attending Primex to come by site A5/A6 to drop in and have a chat, take the time to invest in your most valuable asset – you.
